Over the past several months, our folks have found that one of the greatest comforts during these challenging times is coming together to support one other. Unity has been our greatest strength in the face of adversity. Yoga has been a therapeutic activity for both our staff and residents. Derived from the Sanskrit word “Yuj”, meaning to join or unite, yoga is the perfect reflection of the unity and compassion that has made our community resilient.

Our residents not only enjoyed a beautiful Fall day, but the many benefits of yoga in a class instructed by Erica Thorp!

Yoga promotes both physical and mental wellbeing. In addition to encouraging physical exercise and increasing circulatory health, yoga stills a turbulent mind and works to ground individuals by reducing stress and anxiety levels. This has been immensely beneficial for our folks as we have navigated our new normal.

If we have learned anything from our community during quarantine, it is that unity is strength. Anything is possible when we work together!

Join us during our Weekend of Resilience on Sunday, October 25 at 11:00am for a live-streamed restorative yoga class led by Erica Thorp!

About Erica Thorp

Erica Thorp is a 200hr RYT and has been teaching in the Boston area for over 15 years. She feels fortunate to have been able to share her yoga practice with the Pathway to Possible community for this special Weekend of Resilience! Remember, you don't need to be in a yoga studio to practice yoga. The moment you shift your attention to the simple act of breathing, mindfully inhaling and exhaling, you are practicing yoga! Namaste!
