Board Member
Wendy Schreider graduated with honors from Boston University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. She worked as a travel consultant in London, then an Event Planner for Siagel Productions Entertainment Company in Newton for 15 years. Currently, Wendy is the Head Concierge at Lisa's Hands of Time Personal Concierge Services. Additionally, she is a long-time volunteer for Special Olympics and a lifetime Rivers Day Camp counselor.
Wendy grew up living next door to the Beards, who donated their home to P2P in 1997 for their twin boys, Forrest and Lincoln to live in. Carol Beard always spoke so highly of P2P, so Wendy looked forward to getting involved when the timing was right.
Wendy has been on the P2P Board of Directors for more than five years. Wendy has been an advocate for those with physical and cognitive differences since an early age. She attended the Understanding Our Differences Program in the Newton Public Schools, a program that Carol Beard started. She is proud to continue supporting these individuals through her work on the P2P Board. Her favorite thing about being on the P2P Board is carrying on the spirit and legacy of Carol and Richard Beard. Wendy learns something new at every meeting about all the different state and local agencies that P2P is involved with and how they help our work.
In the future of P2P, Wendy hopes to see the purchase of new homes, new vans, and the maintenance and updating of existing homes. She would also love to see new programs launched that continue to empower P2P residents.
In her free time, Wendy enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, swimming in the summer, attending live music and theatre, and trying out new restaurants. She is also a self-proclaimed Anglophile.
