Margie Birnbaum

Board Vice President

Margie Birnbaum has a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She is now enjoying retirement after working for 30 years as a Real Estate Broker.

Margie has been on the P2P board for the last 15 years. She served as the Board President and is now currently serving as the Vice President. Margie joined after she was introduced by her friend, Mary Margaret Pappas, a previous P2P Board Member.

Margie was a Board Member and the President of Understanding Our Differences, an organization providing a disability awareness curriculum to schools. P2P seemed like a good extension of the work she had been doing. Her background in Real Estate also was a valuable asset to the residential living program.

Margie strongly believes in our mission to provide housing, support and, most important to her, advocacy for people with cognitive and developmental disabilities. She enjoys working with such an amazing group of individuals on the P2P board and has learned so much from each member.

In the future of P2P, Margie foresees a new house, a new group of clients, and the continuance of excellent care at each of our homes.

In her free time, Margie enjoys reading and walking. Since retired, she has learned how to play Mahjong and Canasta. She also attends many hockey games that her three grandchildren play and volunteers with the Mass Association of the Blind.
