JEFF BEHRENS

Board President Emeritus

Jeff Behrens started his entrepreneurial career in Newton, where he built “The Telluride Group”, a health-care IT company. After selling Telluride, he later switched to biotechnology as part of a mid-career transition. Jeff worked at several companies including Edimer Pharmaceuticals (funded by Third Rock Ventures), Alnylam and Biogen Idec, where he co-founded Biogen’s Innovation Incubator.  He became President of Siamab Therapeutics, a biotech company focused on novel cancer medicines. He currently runs LabShares Newton, a biotechnology incubator and shared lab.

Jeff has a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy from Harvard, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Master’s Degree of Science from Harvard Medical School. He later received a PhD in technology entrepreneurship from EPFL in Switzerland.

Jeff was brought into Pathway to Possible when his sister, Kim, moved into one of our homes almost 30 years ago. He joined the Pathway to Possible board 25 years ago and served for 3 years. He rejoined again in 2017. He currently serves on the executive committee of the board and was the board president from 2019-2023.

Jeff supports Pathway to Possible because he believes the mission is incredibly important - helping those with cognitive and developmental disabilities lead full, fun, and meaningful lives. He believes that Pathway to Possible is a well-run organization with great staff and is committed to supporting P2P as the agency continues to grow and do great things for our clients. He would love to see a continued effort to enhance staff pay & benefits to ensure that staff have a viable occupation and excellent career opportunities.

In his free time, Jeff enjoys traveling with his wife Lori, reading, and visiting his favorite national parks.
